Talking Portraits is a collection of monologues written in 1987 by the English author Alan Bennett, for BBC London. With the show’s success, the monologues were adapted for the theaters by the author. Grupo Tapa has two plays, with two monologues each, that portrays the feelings of solitude and the incommunicability of the middle class, and their desires and discomforts. The characters depicted by Bennett are anonymous figures, almost invisible, that could live next door.
